EFI effectively engages itself and through its network of employer organizations and Chambers of Commerce on creating a pro-active policy environment to support the industry. EFI's approach is based on its societal context and is comprehensive and inclusive of various points of views.

To achieve this, EFI frequently interacts with the state and central governments on current and emerging issues and effectively presents the employer's perspective on these issues.

EFI also has social dialogue meetings with the Trade Unions and Govt. officials to share employer's perspective and also to learn from them their point of views, which could be considered in building the thought processes to be carried forward.

Our experience shows that the dialogue meetings are very useful in building a common perspective on issues impacting businesses. EFI had been invited by the Ministry of Labour to participate in fact-finding mission to study impact of privatization on labour. Such requests from state government and Central government are not uncommon.
